I was cruising the last Steam sale and came across Rising World from JIW Games. I messaged the developer's facebook page and asked if they would be interested in having us review it and possibly give us an extra key to give away to you lovely folks and they agreed. So here we are. I have to say that I've really enjoyed tinkering around in Rising World for the last week or so and I've barely scratched the surface. Granted, I don't have as much time to game as I used to but this is a wonderful game to sit down, relax and get into.
Exploring this visually delightly world, you pick up food, resources and tools to help along the way. Use your journal to guide you on to the next steps of the journey. The journal could be more helpful and I had to go to the steam forums to figure out how to craft and get started. I don't like to leave the game just to figure out the basics. Once you get rolling, this game is incredibly relaxing to play. You can be as complex or as simple as you like. Mining is as simple as finding rock and beating it.
Keep an eye on your health in the bottom right corner. See the reddish guy. You can forage for food or kill something and cook it over your fire. MMM, steak.
This game is a huge time investment but not one that I mind making. The visuals are enjoyable and the game play is smooth. Crafters will appreciate the mechanics in Rising World.
If you are looking for a casual sandbox game that will give you hours of enjoyment, I highly recommend Rising World. See our FB page for a chance to win your own Steam key
